If you’re a visual artist, you’ve noticed how most of your searches on Google image now yield a ton of AI images that are at best inaccurate and most of the time a nightmare.

AI runs rampant everywhere so here’s how you can search google image without AI.

In your search bar use : Keyword before:2021 – For example : otter before:2021

Why is AI bad in image search ?

Why wouldn’t you want AI images in your google search ? For a million reasons including :

• AI images are inaccurate at best, completely awful most of the time
• AI generators scrap the internet for references and do not care about copyright, most of the base material is just stolen : some people just make money from this on top of everything.
• AI takes a lot of energy and is clearly dispensable, in this economy we cannot afford it
• AI is not intelligence, it’s just generating probable next pixels after having looked at millions of pictures with the keywords someone types. There’s no intelligence there.

Anyhow, if you’d like to get nice references in 2025 and after, use the search with before:2021, or go to a library. Oh and forget about recent books because that well has also been poisoned. Yep, it’s bleak.
