Commissions + Restocks : the 2025 Plan

2025 plan for custom orders and restocks

Hey there, this year, I’m all for accountability so I decided to change my way of working with custom orders and hopefully this will save us some time and energy.

Here’s the deal : I’m neurodivergent and I have a hard time changing tasks. So I have to make my environment work for me and for you as well. After all I’m my own boss so I have to adapt to my one and only employee 😀 And you deserve transparency and communication, although I rarely leave an e-mail unanswered, making the information public is also keeping me on my toes and adds a bit of accountability.

I will work on custom orders in batches now, meaning that while custom orders have a limited capacity in terms of number of items, they also have a fixed production timeline.

My custom orders will refill in January, May and September, adding a number of items I can make.

January custom orders will start production January 20th. It’s the time when I will e-mail everyone with a confirmation and ask if I need more info. I’ll also ask all customers to send in their request by then. That way I have a finite number of items to make and will work on this batch until each item ships. Which should happen by the end of February if all goes well.

Then by March 3rd, I’ll look at new custom orders that came in from January 20th to March 3rd and bundle this all up to work on a new cohort of orders. If your order comes in after January 20th, you have until March 3rd to let me know your request and send pictures etc. Does it make sense ? Hopefully yes 😀

Recap :

  • Commissions ordered between Jan 11 and 20th,
    • request and details expected before the 20th – Reminder will be sent on the 18th if I don’t have your request.
    • Production begins on the 20th starting with a confirmation e-mail from me. Shipping expected February 25th.
    • If the details and request come in late, order will move to Batch 2.
  • Commissions ordered after the 20th / late request from Batch 1
    • Production is moved to Batch 2, starting March 3rd, shipping April 30th.

Batch Starts means the confirmation e-mails are being sent : I got your order, I’m working on it, I have a question or not. If a few days prior I don’t have an e-mail from a customer with a pending commission, I will e-mail them with a reminder that their request is necessary for me to start working on their piece.

Depending on a few factors, I think I might add a 6th batch in October but I’m not sure yet. For now let’s plan on 5 batches which will leave a little bit of room for redos and mistakes.

Batch Ships : it’s the approximate date at which I hope everything has shipped. It might move a bit but not by much. It also starts a new batch.

I will update this depending on production and keep everyone in the loop via the e-mail list, of course.

New collections : These are the monthly new additions to the shop with new items and always limited availabilities.

Restocks : I will add smaller collections from time to time with a few items and some things that were previously available and have a big waitlist.

2nd grade : this is my way of getting lower tickets items here, these often have small flaws and are available on Ko-fi.

The only exception to this are the memorial urns that take a little bit more time and don’t follow the calendar. I make them regularly and the numbers are not as limited. Watercolor commissions happen on Ko-Fi all year long and are quicker to create.
