Horseshoe crab pendant – night sky

A horseshoe crab pendant in a starry night coat with gold stars. It has a cute smiley face underside. The truth is, horseshoe crabs have 10 eyes, but 2 was cuter.

What is a horseshoe crab ? It’s a marine arthropod, more closely related to spiders and scorpions than actual crabs or shrimp. They’re awesome because they didn’t change much for millions of years and they are quite unique. For once, they have blue blood. This blood is used for medical reasons and is basically indispensable for loads of medical supplies and vaccines. This takes a toll on poor horseshoe crabs. Hopefully we’ll be able to replace them with a man made product – which exists.

This pendant is handmade, sculpted and painted in Montréal. It’s a one of a kind piece, packed in an illustrated box and sent in its eco-friendly 0% plastic package.
